Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

The story is about two friends who are so close that they were often called as one word, TullyandKate. They met in the 8th grade and formed a friendship whose story is told over the next 30 years. Each decade is marked by the popular songs and fashions, so it will be a trip down memory lane as well for those who lived through the 70's 80's and 90's. Later decades are also marked by the news stories that made their mark on history as Tully pursues her career of being a TV news reporter. Kate takes a different path as a stay at home mom. Although the two are opposites, each finds support in the other during thier darkest times. Be prepared for a tearjerker ending.
